MOGADISHU, – Somalia’s journey toward a more democratic and inclusive political system gained significant momentum as prominent former leaders, including former Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmake and former Parliament Speakers Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan and Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman, officially registered their political organizations. The National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) has granted certificates of registration to a total of 14 new political organizations.
